We are excited about our second annual VT Black Alumni Society (VTBAS) Homecoming 2023 weekend! The information below will be updated regularly as new details are available. Registration for each event is required by October 8th so that final catering orders and logistics can be confirmed with vendors.
VT Black Alumni Society Homecoming (VTBAS) 2023 Information
Schedule (as of October 8th):
Thursday, October 12, 2023 (On-campus)
Black Student Alliance (BSA) Homecoming Concert. The artist/performers will be announced soon. Alumni will be able to purchase tickets in advance of the concert.
Friday, October 13, 2023: (On-campus)

NPHC Homecoming Yard Show at 7:00pm in Squires Commonwealth Ballroom.
The ticket prices are as follows: The Greek early bird code is UNITY23.
The non-Greek code is EARLYHIKES23. If you do not enter the promo code and click directly on "Find Tickets" it will direct you to the General Admission $12 ticket. There is a limited number of early bird tickets.

There is a max number of 6 ticket that each individual can purchase.
Black Alumni Meet-Up at McClain's B&B Theatres Blacksburg 11 immediately following the NPHC Yard Show. No registration is required.

VTBAS Tailgate at 11:00am on the Career Services Lawn, across from Cassell Coliseum parking lot on Washington Street.

During the tailgate alumni will have the opportunity to meet with current VT students and prospective students and families for career exploration activities hosted by VT College Access Collaborative!
In addition, The VT Career & Professional Development Office will be on-site to help current students sign up for resume review and and mock interview sessions.
VT Graduate School and the Black Graduate Student Organization (BGSO) will also be with us.

Please note that VT Black Alumni Society Homecoming events are not the same events hosted by the VT Alumni Association. Each event has a separate registration link and price. Paying for a VT Alumni Association event does not include access to a VTBAS event and vice versa.

Alumni can check AirBnb and Vacation Rental by Owner (VRBO). Most of the hotels in the Blacksburg and Christiansburg areas have a 2-night minimum and a very expensive nightly rate.
Roanoke, Salem, and Radford are other areas to look for lodging.
